Finally Getting My Internet Marketing Act Together

Working on a new business part time can be exhausting and a bit frustrating. Sometimes it takes a while to get all of the pieces to come together. Well, this weekend, I managed to get some significant work done.

In the past year I have created several reports and a new video product which have given me some nice successes in the marketplace. I’ve promoted them individually and given some their own domains, but never tied them all together anywhere.

At the same time I’ve purchased the resale rights to a number of excellent products which I haven’t marketed to their full potential either. I mostly did short, direct promotions in forums or to my personal lists, but never put all of the included sales packages online to continue to generate sales as time goes on.

Well, I’ve got a bunch of my key products online over at my GoToGuyEnterprises.com domain and I put together a little products page listing all of the items that I sell with links to the sales pages.

In an earlier post I mentioned my new Internet Marketing Insights blog that I started over at GoToGuyEnterprises.com. I’ve moved all of my marketing focused content over there and am posting new marketing material over there as well. So far, it’s working out well.

The products I have list are:

  • Andrew, I noticed your niche is basically the Internet Marketing niche. What made you decide to enter such a crowded field? You know we’re all being scared away from that niche by the big guys who say do other niches, but I’m just not finding other niches that are promising, have lots of products to sell or that have enough demand.

So … again, what made you decide to enter Internet Marketing itself?

  • Ana,

I did not decide to get into the Internet Marketing niche as much as I decided not to waste what I had learned about it.

I have several other niches that I’m working in besides Internet Marketing – but the marketing niche has been very profitable for me. Every new person trying to learn how to create websites and sell products online needs help getting started. I’ve found lots of people, online and offline, who have benefited from what I’ve learned. This includes, building websites, generating traffic, doing market research, selling digital products, building promotional campaigns, creating information products, managing customer support, raising capital, etc.

There is a viable market for this content and I created the marketing blog (and the product page mentioned here) to build a focused resource out of my writing on the topic and to take advantage of the resale rights I have acquired for products I purchased along the way (I have the rights to dozens of products, these are just the ones I feel are worth recommending.)

As my business grows, I expect to be making income from a wide variety of niches. That is part of why information publishing fits so well with my Scanner personality. I can create a project and, once it is setup, it will continue to generate income and mostly run itself. Things I did 2 years ago are earning income for me every month. When I find a new niche idea that is viable, I add it to the collection. Right now there are more than 5 distinct niches generating income for me on a regular basis.

The Rapid Website Development videos I made are an interesting addition to this page because they are relevant to far more people than just marketers. But, the initial product grew out of questions I was getting from fellow members of a marketing forum. This first product was geared toward their specific needs, but I have several variations of the core content which will be targeted at non-marketing audiences.

There is lots of opportunity out there – even in the Internet Marketing niche.

If you want an even simpler answer to your question: I got into Internet Marketing because I discovered that Internet Marketers were willing to give me thousands of dollars to show them what I know about building an online business.

    The Go-To Guy!

P.S. One of the main motivations behind this particular post was to get Google to index the new pages I had created on my other site. This blog has a very good page rank and Google visits new posts within 24 hours of publication and usually visits the pages I link to within 48 hours. So, I can kick-start search engine traffic by writing a post here and linking to the new page. Yet another useful thing I’ve learned in my Internet Marketing work.
